The State of Cypress City by Beth M.

Welcome fellow Sims, thank you very much for joining me here today. Today I want to remind you of what we have achieved over the past years, and also inform you what I plan to do in the future.

The first big issue I would like to cover is taxes. Now I know that taxes have been a bit high, but it's not the matter of money, it's the matter of keeping our city going. I'm sorry if taxes have caused any problems, but as soon as the city increases its population, I promise to lower the taxes to at least five- percent.

Crime is a problem we should pay close attention to, but since our city is so small we haven't much worry, but that doesn't make our city totally crime free, it just means we live in a pretty safe environment. This is an achievement you should be very proud of.

Despite the water shortage we had two years ago, the whole city has a tremendous amount of fresh water from our twenty brand new water pumps put in just last year.

Another big issue I would like to bring up is pollution. The fact of the matter is, no one likes pollution, so I've put a pollution control law on the city and have banned all heavy polluting industries. I've also helped the polluting situation by having only solar power plants in our city, which produce no pollution at all. Automobiles can also cause up to 50 percent of the pollution in our city, and only add to traffic problems, so one of the main things I hope to accomplish very soon is putting in subway stations, train stations, and with your help I've already put in many bus depots.

Now I would like to talk a bit about education. I think an education is the most valuable and important thing a Sim can have. Education plays an important role in our lives and can badly affect them if not educated properly. For many people, this is an unfortunate problem. That's why in Cypress City it's never to late to back to go school or even college for that matter. So in our city, again with your help, I have provided many schools and only special qualified teachers.

I'd like to close my speech by reminding you the many reasons I gave you to move into Cypress City, and for some Sims the many reasons I gave you to stay in Cypress City. A city you can call home, a city your children can someday call home, where every Sim man and Sim woman is treated the same, where crime is low and education is strong, and promises are kept. Remember Cypress City wants you!

The State of the City by Eddie P.

Welcome fellow sims. Did you know we have over 50,000 people in our city? This city is the best city I have seen out of all the cities I have seen. This city has lots of money to take care of all the buildings. Since I have been the mayor of this city, I have not seen too many things bad and I am pleased about that.

We have accomplished a great deal over the past few years, we have ran utility wires to the places where it needed electricity. We did that so the buildings would work properly and so the people could do their jobs. We also did it so people could go to school and be able to sharpen their pencils. Also, we have electricity so people can see what they are doing in the night.

Another thing that we have accomplished is a wonderful education system. We have gotten high tech educated schools for people to get a really beneficial education so people can get really nice jobs. Then, once they get nice jobs and get good money, they will be able to afford an expensive house to live in.

We have created a lot of commercial areas. We put an incredible amount of land for people to shop in because we don't want to see people on the streets without clothes. We want to see them dressed nicely like any other person. We make the clothes cheap, not because they are bad or anything, but just so they can afford to buy them. So please buy the clothes so you will look nice....

Thank you for your time, I will see you around.
