Erving Elementary School is participating in a Universal Lunch Program for the current school year 2019-2020. If your children attend Erving Elementary School, breakfast and lunch will be available to them at no charge. 

Applications will be distributed this year and will be used to determine eligibility for free and reduced price percentages to be used in non-base years of the program. Meals will be served to all students at no charge regardless of the eligibility status.  All families are asked to complete the Free/Reduced paperwork for the School year 2019-2020.  By providing this information the state will determine the amount of funds being reimbursed to the Erving Elementary School breakfast and lunch program.

The school breakfast and lunch that we serve follows U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. The Universal Lunch and Breakfast Program cannot succeed without your support; please encourage your children to participate in the school lunch and breakfast program. 

Studies have shown that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge, we are hoping to create a better learning environment for our students.

* If your child brings a home lunch and requests milk, there will be a charge of $0.50 for the milk!



All meals are subject to change without notice.  If there is a 1 or 2 hour delay in the morning, due to conditions beyond our control, we may have to change the menu from what was originally planned.  



One out of every six fifth-graders doesn't eat breakfast, and older children are much more likely to skip the most important meal of the day. Is your child one of them? Children who eat breakfast are more alert than those who don't and they perform better in school. They are also more creative and energetic. Children who skip breakfast have trouble concentrating and are absent and tardy more often. Breakfast helps children get a jump start on the nutrients they need for the day. Traditional breakfast foods such as cereal toast and fruit are rich in nutrients. But so are other more creative foods, such as pizza or tacos, for breakfast.
