Erving Elementary School Library

On Thursday, January 18, Beth Bazler visited with 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students as part of our 2007 Read-a-thon. Ms. Bazler, an Erving parent, is Public Environmental Program Coordinator at Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center.

Not only did Ms. Bazler share with us the details of her exciting career, she allowed all of the students to have a hands-on experience! Students were given skulls of wildlife native to New England, and were encouraged to explore and question: What kind of animal could it be? What kind of teeth does it have? What kind of food does it look like it might have eaten? How large is the brain cavity? A naturalist's job is all about observation!
